Brent House Bay Books 2nd Saturday Artwalk July Bay St Louis

Poet and editor, Brent House, will be at Bay Books from 5:00-7:00 on Saturday, July 12th to read and sign his new book,The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast.

Edited by Gulf Coast natives Jeff Newberry and Brent House, The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast captures an endangered way of life. The growing global climate change crisis virtually guarantees that the Gulf Coast region will radically change in the next fifty years. This anthology, The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast, seeks to capture the tensions in this American borderland through the voices of poets who can enhance our understanding of the ecological, historical, and cultural forces that have shaped the region. These poems are the voices of a Gulf Coast that future generations will not know.

Brent House, a contributing editor for The Tusculum Review and an editor for The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast (Snake Nation Press, 2013), is a native of Necaise, Mississippi, where he raised cattle and watermelons on his family’s farm. He has been a finalist for the Tupelo Press First/Second Book Award and the Colorado Prize for Poetry. Brent's poems have appeared in journals such as Colorado Review, Cream City Review, Denver Quarterly, The Journal, and Third Coast.
