Oliver Chase- Book Signing

Oliver Chase, author of Marsh Island and Blind Marsh, will be at Bay Books signing his books on Saturday, March 14th from 5:00-7:00.

Marsh Island and sequel Blind Marsh are fast-paced, suspense novels staring cops, real life crooks, and innocents like you and me grappling with today’s greed-ugly crimes. Inspired by the most notorious criminals of the twentieth century, a psychopathic hit man is convinced a two thousand year old prophecy guarantees immunity, invulnerability, and the riches of a national treasury.

Readers of James Patterson and Craig Johnson will recognize a noir fiction style that is uniquely Oliver Chase. Both novels follow Phillip Pfeiffer, a Gulf War veteran cashiered from a life that cost him his marriage and his piece of the American Dream. In his new world, Phil is forced to photograph cheating husbands, deal with battered women making terrible choices, and brazen out an underworld in the chaos of a power struggle. The private investigator overcomes his own terrors only to discover that while love may not cure all ills, real happiness goes a long way balancing pain and disappointment.

Oliver graduated high school and would be able to fly, which was really all he ever wanted. The war was on and the Marines offered a way. He took it. Some five years later, Oliver was a vet with a Distinguished Flying Cross and a long list of combat missions – even a couple in that dark, secret world of political deniability. Oliver spent five years in a police department working narcotics and SWAT, and the next 22 in the FBI. He and his wife live on a small farm along the Gulf Coast near New Orleans.
