In “The End — A Love Story,” author Bentson depicts a different era — the 1940s, World War II, ballroom dancing, gin and tonic, formalities and manners, Camels and Pall Malls. No introspection, no analysis, just live and love. And that’s what they did. They met at the Army air base during World War II. He was a dashing young pilot instructor, and she had a security clearance for the Office of Strategic Services where she was seated behind a desk when his eyes first fell on her. It was simple then. What brought them to now? Bentson is a successful realtor in the New Orleans area. She and her husband spend time at their homes in New Orleans and Denver or visiting their children and grandchildren. Bentson received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Wyoming, where she met her husband, Michael.
