Jane Stanley will be signing his book, Jane: A Memoir of Family and Faith, on Saturday, November, 11th from 5:00PM-6:30PM. In 1969, Jane was cleaning her house when a woman came by her house and told her she had received a prophecy from God that Jane’s husband Neil would leave town and become a minister. Jane dismissed the prophesy. Nearly 40 years later and after a career that included opening both a dress store and a private school, Jane was ordained. She founded The Nourishing Place in Gulfport, Miss., and she currently serves as its pastor. Jane Stanley has been a teacher, principal, restaurateur, clothier, writer, publisher, stable operator, curriculum specialist, fundraiser, consultant, entrepreneur, and minister. Her book covers the highs and lows in her life, from her childhood in Gulfport, Miss., to five marriages to four men, to answering a call to ministry. “This beautifully written memoir by Jane Stanley is a compelling story of an intriguing life. After all the ins and outs and ups and downs of her life, and coming out on top, Jane Stanley is a living testament to William Faulkner’s dictum about man ‘not merely enduring, but prevailing.’ Read this book, and you will be better and wiser for it.” David Sansing, historian and author of Mississippi Governors and A Troubled History: The Governance of Higher Education in Mississippi For more information about this event or to reserve your copy of please contact Bay Books at 228.463.2688 |
